While we’ve found that most general questions can be answered within a 15 minute time frame, should you want a more in-depth review or advice, we've developed personalized services and classes which are available to everyone, whether you purchased your equipment from High Point Scientific or not!

Our regular hours are Monday through Friday from 10 A.M - 7 P.M. Eastern, Saturday from 10 A.M - 3 P.M. Eastern, and closed on Sunday. Please note that these hours are subject to change due to holidays and seasonality.

You can purchase a 30-minute dedicated appointment with a Gear Expert to help you set up your telescope or equipment, or if your purchase includes an item valued at $999 or more, a free 30-minute gear setup is included. The 30-Minute gear set up typically includes:

Unboxing/Setup
Cover each included component/check functionality
Basic “how to” use the equipment
Tips/Tricks/Best Practices
Explanation of basic visual and photographic concepts

If you are looking to learn the ins and outs of your new gear, narrow down the myriad of options available, or have any other question that requires an in-depth conversation then this option is for you. This is available to everyone, regardless if you purchased from High Point Scientific or from another vendor, such as Amazon. A typical 1-hour one-on-one includes:

Everything in the 30-minute gear set up (if applicable)
In depth discussion on amateur telescope options, brand recommendations, product compatibility
Intermediate conversations about camera selection and adaptability/compatibility across multiple telescopes
Recommendations on commonly used software and links to resources to learn more

Please note that the video call is optional and can be a phone call instead if desired.

Interested in building a complete visual or imaging rig from the ground up? Have very specific needs in mind? This is the service for you. Work with a Gear Expert to discuss, plan out and design all the parts for your visual system, imaging system or both! A typical system build includes:

Brief meeting ahead of time discussing your goals and requirements
Complete build of a visual package from the ground up. Telescope options, eyepiece options, adapters, accessories, functionality etc.
Complete build of an imaging package from the ground up. Telescope options, camera options, spacers, filter wheels, filters etc.
Software compatibility included, however we do not teach you how to use the software but will guide you towards resources

When a complete package is ordered from High Point Scientific the $149.95 is deducted from the order and a free 30-Minute gear setup is added.
