Tame the field curvature of f/5 to f/8 refractors with the Hotech 2" SCA Self-Centering Field Flattener's two multi-coated elements, for rounder stars out towards the edge of frame! This crisp, clear, and light transmission efficient set of optics provide this stellar field correction without any reduction factor; allowing you to enhance your images without changing the framing that you love! Housing these optics is a Self-Centering mechanism that acts as a guard against sources of tilt or decentration from your 2" focuser. This includes tolerance in the drawtube which otherwise could allow your corrective optic to sit slightly off center, thumbscrews and unified compression rings which can induce tilt by unevenly pushing on the 2" barrel, or even slightly oval shaping of the drawtube that can disturb your centering. Engaging this mechanism can be done with the quick twist of the textured outer ring, expanding three rubber segments outwards evenly. This design also helps isolate your imaging equipment vibrations and low frequency oscillations that more direct connections can transfer while still providing your camera with a solid attachment to your scope!

The Hotech 2" SCA Self-Centering Field
Flattener provides a superbly centered 2" connection experience for those
seeking enhanced precision in their imaging system. Compared to threaded
connections, standard 2" barrel attachments can be moved out of exacting
alignment due to a number of factors. As these connections need to account
for 2" barrels varying slightly in dimension across various manufacturers, a
certain amount of tolerance is built in which will can allow accessories to
tilt or rest slightly off center. Combined this with thumbscrew and or
slightly unstable compression rings that only support your 2" equipment at
one point or segment—leaving the rest of the barrel to move or be
pinched off-kilter—and slightly misshapen interior drawtube diameters,
and you have a corrective optic that is not perfectly aligned. The
Self-Centering system solves all these issues, with three rubber rings which
expand radially to provide centered, multi-segment, support and even
expansion into even slightly misshapen or blemished drawtube walls!
Solid Design
This corrective element will flatten the
field of refractors with a focal ratio of f/5 to f/8 with its two element
design. These elements are multi-coated for excellent light transmission
efficiency, and are arranged to provide best correction at the industry
standard 55 mm of backfocus. The Hotech 2" SCA Self-Centering Field
Flattener is compatible with 2" focusers and visual backs, and features an
M42/ T-Thread connection for your camera and imaging equipment. For one-shot
color or single filter mono users, an M48/ 2" filter thread has been added
to the telescope side of the corrective element to add a user supplied
filter without needing additional accessories between this corrector and the
camera!
