iOptron has expanded their popular Photron RC telescopes with the addition of this 10" truss tube OTA. The truss tube RC telescope is designed with astrophotographers in mind, producing a crisp clear image from edge to edge. This truss tube OTA is ideal for a variety of different mount combinations.
The RC optical design has been optimized for color and monochrome imaging, producing a clear image free of coma and spherical and chromatic aberrations. A fixed position primary mirror eliminates image shift that occurs when focusing from other telescope designs. With 1/12th wave or better primary mirror, our RC scopes deliver images and views that are out of this world.
iOptron's 10" Photron truss tube RC telescope includes low thermal expansion quartz primary and secondary mirrors. The mirrors are equipped with highly reflective (96%) coatings maximizing the light getting to your eyepiece or imaging device.
Each Photron truss tube instrument comes equipped with a dual-speed linear bearing Crayford focuser that can facilitate an optional ASCOM compliant electronic focus control. Three focuser extension rings are provided for a “flex-free” solid extension as a means to take up any unneeded back focus. Its backbone, made up of strong, light, carbon fiber truss supports hold the optics firmly in place while keeping weight to a minimum. It's open-air design results in rapid cooling, reducing the "wait time" before use.
