with Dual Encoders, iPolar, WiFi, and Hard Case
This compact, 70 lb. payload, center-balancing equatorial mount from iOptron is a stable, reliable, and accurate mount that comes with many great features, including dual axis, high-resolution encoders. The CEM70EC2W is great for both visual observation as well as astrophotography. Precise GoTo tracking makes it easy to find any of the over 212,000 objects in the database of the included Go2Nova 8410 hand controller. The included iPolar electronic polar scope makes polar alignment a breeze. The CEM70EC2W includes built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as 32-channel GPS positioning. USB3 ports allow for extended functionality. An integrated ST-4 autoguiding port allows for easy connection of an autoguider.
When it comes to the CEM70EC2W, precision is the name of the game: precise altitude and azimuth adjustment is paired with a precision stepper motor with 0.07 arcsecond accuracy. Precision tracking includes a low periodic error rate of <0.3 arcsecond RMS and real-time periodic error correction (RPEC). The gear clutches are reliable as well as easy to use, with easy lock drive gear engagement and levers that are large enough to be operated even with gloves on.
The included Go2Nova 8410 hand controller is the latest in iOptron's popular line of computerized control systems. This hand controller has a large, 8-line, 21-character backlit LCD screen with a user-friendly interface to navigate between objects in a database of over 212,000. The controller also allows for slewing at nine different driver speeds (1x, 2x, 8x, 16x, 64x, 128x, 256x, 512x, and Max) keeping objects in view as they move across the sky. Go2Nova also makes alignment quick and simple. Connecting to the mount via an HBX port, the firmware is upgradeable and can be upgraded or reloaded from the mount itself. Rated to operate in temperatures as low as -10ºC (14ºF).
