The Meade Series 4000 26mm Super Plössl eyepiece offers precision engineered Meade optics, with a wide field, sharp image, and a very satisfying view.

Utilizing multi-coated optics and a 4-element design, the Series 4000 represents an excellent general-purpose eyepiece. Blackened lens edges minimize internal light bounce and glare, producing excellent contrast. The 4-element lens system is simple yet effective in providing high light transmission and a sharp image, ensuring crisp, bright images across the field of view. The eye relief is 18mm, allowing the entire field of view to be visible, even while wearing glasses. 26mm is considered medium-low magnification, but of course it can vary depending on the focal length of the telescope being used with this eyepiece. As a benchmark, in a 1000mm focal length telescope, the magnification will be 38.5x, with a field of view of 1.35°. And in a shorter telescope such as an 80mm f/6 refractor (480mm focal length), the magnification is 18.5x with a very wide 2.8° field of view. 26mm is an excellent medium-low magnification focal length eyepiece to have in your collection. Ideal for larger deep-sky objects in most all telescopes, regardless of size or focal length.

This Series 4000 eyepiece features a precision made standard 1.25" barrel and fold down rubber eyeguard for comfortable viewing as well as for helping to block stray light. It is parfocal with other Series 4000 Super Plössls meaning there will be little to no focus change when switching between eyepieces. The barrel is threaded for 1.25" eyepiece filters, and the eyepiece weighs just 3 oz (85g), with dimensions of 33mm x 43mm.
