This Meade 8 LX90-ACF 8" OTA Only is an Open Box item and, therefore, in Open Box Condition.
- Upon inspection, we found that these telescopes are fully functional. These telescopes have been removed from their original LX90 fork arm mount due to electrical defects, subsequently, a single ADM V Series Dovetail Bar has been installed. These OTAs has been repackaged and includes a finder shoe (preinstalled), front dust cover, and rear dust cap. The original finderscope, eyepiece, diagonal, and SCT visual back are not included. The external surfaces show minimal signs of use, and all mechanical components are fully operational. The optical surfaces are clean and clear of any notable defects.

Meade Advanced Coma Free Optics
Engineered for excellence, this LX90 OTA is crafted with Advanced Coma-Free Optics (ACF) from Meade. This upgraded Schmidt-Cassegrain design replaces the traditional spherical primary mirror with an elliptical mirror, eliminating coma entirely for superb color correction, while also further reducing spherical aberration. In contrast to other Schmidt-Cassegrains on the market which reduce clarity near the edges of the frame, this Meade LX90 with ACF optics upholds sharpness across the entire field of view. In a side-by-side comparison, the difference is clear: ACF optics present the clearest, sharpest views. Not only is this optical design exceedingly beneficial for visual astronomy, it’s also ideal for both long and short exposure astrophotography. This well-corrected field of view enables you to utilize larger sensors for wide-field imaging of deep space objects, such as vast nebulae and large galaxies. To enhance the performance of this optical system even further, the OTA is equipped with the Ultra-High Transmission Coatings (UHTC) from Meade. This specialized coating formula increases light transmission by 15% in comparison to other coatings for brighter, more detailed views and improved contrast!
