Polar Alignment With Your Nomad and Phone Adapter Kit
Lining up your Move Shoot Move Nomad with the Nomad Phone Adapter Kit and a smartphone is simple! First begin with your smartphone and digital planetarium app; ensuring you are using an app with 'compass mode', or similar feature that can identify what portion of the sky your phone is looking at and what is there. Turn on this feature, and follow any calibration steps necessary. Once your smartphone is calibrated, insert it into the Nomad Smart Phone Adapter and secure it in the clamp. Loosen the adjustment knob on the Smart Phone Adapter, and adjust your smartphone so that it is flat with the back of (parallel to) the Nomad. Tighten the adjustment knob back down. Now adjust the Nomad until your mobile planetarium app shows the alignment point for your hemisphere in the center; in the sky over the alignment point for your hemisphere; for the Northern hemisphere this is simply Polaris, in the Southern hemisphere this is a point between the Octant and Southern Cross. Lock your Nomad in place, and you're now ready to begin imaging!

Simple Installation
Adding a digital planetarium to
your Nomad is easy! Just remove the threaded red dimple or Move Shoot Move
Calibrated Laser from the back of your Nomad, place the adapter plate on the
back of the unit such that the top and side guardrails touch the housing,
and then thread the dimple cap or laser back in place. You can now slide the
phone adapter into the adapter plate's shoe, and secure with the plastic
thumbscrew. In addition to compatibility with the
Move Shoot Move Calibrated Pointer, the adapter plate provides an attachment point for the
Move Shoot Move Polar Scope (both sold separately), ensuring you have options when it comes to your alignment process!

a robust aluminum clamp with rubberized bumpers to firmly grip your
