Simple Operation
Using the Orion Star Target
Planisphere is easy! Start by rotating the disc to match the current time
with the current date, setting the time one hour early if Daylight Savings
is currently in effect. Hold the Orion Star Target Planisphere up, and
orient the planisphere so that the printed cardinal direction that matches
your current direction is facing down; for example if
you're facing North, rotate the entire planisphere (without changing your
time/date setting) so that the N is facing the ground. You're now set to
start exploring some of the night skies highlights! To keep your eyes dark
adapted while using the planisphere, consider using a dim red light source
such as the
Orion RedBeam Mini LED Flashlight
or
Apertura Ember Astronomer Headlamp!
