Whether you're looking for a large pixel camera capable of pairing with longer focal length optics, or small pixel option that maximizes resolution, the QHYCCD 294M Pro Monochrome CMOS Camera is a compelling option. With access to the IMX492's on-chip pixel combination circuitry, the QHY294M Pro can bring you 46.8 MP high resolution or 11.7 MP maximum performance without the noise of software solutions. This control allows you to adapt your camera on the fly, making obtaining a better "/pixel match, higher resolution, or more performance as simple as a simple toggle in your imaging suite. BSI Micro 4/3 Imaging Sensor
Giving this camera its
stellar astrophotography performance and versatility is the Sony IMX492 BSI
sensor. This Back Side Illuminated sensor features 2.315 μm pixels in a
Micro 4/3 sensor footprint of 19.28 x 12.95 mm, for an incredible 46.8
megapixel resolution. This gives you a perfect match for shorter focal
length optics, and allows you to capture incredible amounts of information
in every frame. For better dynamic range & full-well depth performance
and better long focal length "/pixel matching, this sensor can be
binned 2x2. While 2x2 binning is not exclusive to the IMX492, this sensor
can engage BIN2 on-chip. By combining this information before it is
readout from the sensor
this camera minimizes the additional readout noise associated with 2x2
binning, giving you a cleaner image than software BIN2 can provide. In this mode the QHY294M Pro can achieve 65 ke-, 16.5 FPS @ 14-bit, and
features 4.63 μm pixels. This stellar sensor can additionally provide low
read noise in either mode once HCG, and low dark current. The QHY294M Pro
uses the monochrome variant of this sensor, giving you more sensitivity and
a cleaner image than one-shot color variations. All this adds up to flexible
imaging option capable of creating awe-inspiring imagery of our night sky!
Cutting Edge Supporting Tech
Supporting Sony's
powerful IMX492 sensor is a host of QHY's premium camera technology to
ensure you can maximize this imaging system! Keeping the sensor cool to
reduce noise is QHY's two-stage cooling system, which is capable of cooling
the chip down by -35°C below the ambient temperature. Imaging
performance is further supported with the 256MB DDR3 imag buffer which
protects your session from data transmission hiccups. QHY gives you
safeguards against moisture with an anti-dew window heating solution and
simple chamber drying solution; which can efficiently eliminate chamber
humidity by simply connecting the included desiccant tube with desiccant
(not included) for a short while.
Power and Ports
The QHY294M Pro is equipped with
essential connectivity to efficiently integrate with your imaging system.
For power, a threaded 5.5x2.1 mm 12V input is present; with a threaded
sleeve for a secure connection with compatible power plugs. Data acquisition
is fast and reliable with the USB 3.0 B port. Finally, for simplified
accessory management this camera is equipped with a CFW port capable of
connecting your compatible QHY accessories without needing a second
connection to your PC.
Spacers Included
For connecting the QHY294M Pro to
your system QHY has included their A1 adapter kit. This kit includes: 5 mm
M54 to M48 to Adapter, 3 mm Spacer, 0.5 mm Spacer, 10 mm Spacer, and eight
22 mm M3 Screws. This allows you to integrate the camera with a number of
QHY's accessories, with an M42 to 2" nosepiece adapter that can be used to
connect the camera to compression fittings.
