High Resolution Sony Sensor
The QHY183C Color Cooled
CMOS Astrophotography Camera brings you Sony's Back-Side Illuminated sensor
technology and stellar resolution, with the IMX183 sensor! With an
incredible 5544 x 3684 pixels in its 13.3 mm x 8.9 mm sensor, the QHY183C
gives you resolution typical of a larger sensor camera without the increased
demands of a large image circle. 2.4 μm pixels give you an excellent
pairing with shorter focal length scopes, and with this camera's 20.4
megapixel resolution BIN2 can be engaged for longer focal length matching
while still maintaining better than HD resolution! These are supported by
Sony's Back Side Illuminated (BSI) technology for a step up from comparable
Front Side Illuminated class sensors. This all equates to a solid foundation
for your image acquisition application, with color capturing, 15.5 ke- full
well depth, 12 bit ADC, and low 1 e-/ 2.7 e- read noise in high/ low gain
mode.
Solid Supporting Technology
A stellar sensor is only
part of the story; as QHY extends Sony's IMX183 sensor with supporting
technology and design to give you an elevated imaging experience! This
starts with a powerful thermoelectric cooling system, capable of bringing
your sensor to -40°C below ambient temperature. This has a chilling
effect on noise, giving you crisper, cleaner, images! Also helping you
achieve clearer sub-frames is QHY's Anti Amp Glow technology, which works to
suppress the IMX183 sensor glow. This camera also suppresses dew with
Anti-Dew built into the front of the camera to warm the IR coated window and
ward of moisture; with a desiccant tube port added for simple sensor chamber
maintenance. Finally, to help ensure your images can weather fluctuations in
data transfer QHY has built in a 128MB DRR2 image buffer.
Power and Ports
The QHY183C brings you a
straightforward set of connections for a no-nonsense system setup. Powering
this camera is simple and secure, with an included 12V power supply and a
threaded camera side power input. For high-speed data transfer, QHY has
designed this camera with a USB B 3.0 port (USB B to A cable included). For
users invested in QHY's ecosystem, this camera additionally features a CFW
port for streamlined control of compatible accessories. Lastly, the QHY183C
additionally features an ST4 guiding port and cable, allowing you to adapt
this camera to a guiding role as your journey progresses!
Easily Adaptable to Your System

to your system is straightforward with this dedicated astro camera design!
With a native backfocus length of 17.5 mm and M42/ T2 thread, this camera
can easily work with industry standard spacers and the 55 mm backfocal
distance. For an even more straightforward connection with systems less
sensitive to backfocus, the QHY183C Color Cooled CMOS Astrophotography
Camera comes with an M42 to 1.25" nosepiece in the box!
