Sharpstar SCA260 V2 Aspherical Cassegrain
The Super Cassegrain Flat-Field Astrograph from Sharpstar: The SCA260 v2
This flat-field super cassegrain astrograph from Sharpster is the newest version of their SCA260 (version 2). Featuring a 260 mm (10.24") aperture and 1300 mm focal length, the SCA260V2 has a focal ratio of f/5.
Cassegrain reflectors combine a primary concave mirror with a secondary convex mirror, which allows for a long focal length in a mechanically and physically short system. The primary mirror of the SCA260V2 is made of low expansion, Pyrex-like PZ33 glass, which allows for consistent performace across a range of temperatures.
Great Optics, Great Focuser, Included Adapter Rings
The housing of the SCA260 version 2 is made of strong and lightweight carbon fiber. The skeletonized handle is CNC-manufactured aluminum and can be used as a base to attach additional accessories. Check out the information below on the optical system, focuser, and included adapter rings!
Super Cassegrain Flat-Field Optics
This super cassegrain reflecting telescope has its primary mirror made from Pyrex-like PZ33 low expansion glass. Both the primary and secondary mirrors have enhanced aluminum coatings to provide a reflectivity of around 95%. In addition, a large 3" corrector with a three-element lens structure is laid in the optical path for better full-frame imaging as well as better control of aberrations and vignetting of imaging.
3" Dedicated Focuser with 360° Rotator
New to the second version of the SCA260 is a 3" dedicated focuser with an improved 50 mm travel length. In addition, the focuser now supports heavier loads to accomodate additional accessories while maintaining smooth movement without slippage. Lastly, included with the focuser is a 360° rotator which allows the user to rotate a connected camera or other accessory to the most helpful or comfortable orientation.
Included Adapter Rings
Three interlocking adapter rings allow for connection of all kinds of cameras and accessories of various sizes. Included is an M68x1 ring, an M54x0.75 ring, and an M48x0.75 ring with a built-in 2" filter thread.
