Thanks to the whisper-quiet dual-axis synchronous belt drives, the HEQ5-R provides smooth high precision tracking with minimal backlash and a 33-pound payload capacity. The all metal bearings, dependable hybrid stepper motors , and fine-tuned worm gears with periodic error correction further support the needs of seasoned astrophotographer, while maintaining streamlined useability for beginners. The built-in guide port gives you the option to further enhance tracking performance and capture longer exposures!

SynScan Computerized Hand Controller
SynScan controller allows you to effortlessly control your HEQ5-R mount, easily switch between guiding speeds ranging from 0.25x to 1x, and select target from a 42,900+ object database containing the complete Messier, NGC and IC catalogs. The SynScan hand controller also has the ability to connect to a computer via a USB cable. Once the connection has been established between the computer and SynScan hand control, many commercially available planetarium software programs can be used to control the HEQ5-R Pro mounts.

Multiple Modes of Control & Internal Cable Management
The HEQ5-R includes SynScan hand controller, a 2.1 mm female power port, and a USB-B port for computer interface. This mount also features internal cable passthrough with additional ports located below the dovetail saddle plate, making it a great option for remote observing. You can also control the mount wirelessly via the SynScan Pro app that is available for Android or iOS devices.

Adjustable Steel Tripod and Counterweights
The HEQ5-R is come ready for use with a durable rolled steel tripod and two 11-pound counterweights. This tripod provides a stable foundation for the mount with adjustable 1.75-inch diameter legs and all metal spreader bar that doubles as an accessory tray.
