Software Bisque Paramount Taurus 600 Direct Drive Equatorial Fork Mount

Software Bisque's Paramount Taurus™ 600 equatorial-fork delivers uninterrupted horizon-to-horizon imaging. That means - no interruptions for meridian flips compared to German equatorial mountings! It also comes equipped with high-performance direct-drive motors and on-axis absolute encoders for silent operation and much faster slew speeds. It also means no homing is required and periodic error is negligible. With these features, a 400 lb. payload capacity, accommodations for telescopes up to 24" (0.6 meter), and the quality you can except from an instrument made right in Golden, Colorado USA, this mount is an excellent choice for demanding setups/ applications!

By employing Software Bisque's TPoint™ calibration and telescope modeling tools, you’ll enjoy all sky pointing accuracies below 20 arcseconds RMS; which can be reduced to 10 arcseconds or less with a well-mounted payload and fixed mirror telescope. Operating in conjunction with TPoint, ProTrack™ continuously updates the mount’s position across both axes to correct system-wide tracking errors including tube flexures, atmospheric refraction, polar misalignment, harmonic errors from mis-centered encoders, and more. While users of Software Bisque's gear-driven systems can deliver 5-10 minute unguided exposures (and that's without their On-Axis Encoders), this model's direct drive system can provide even better performance. Additionally these direct drive models can also be controlled directly by software other than the included programs from Software Bisque, or the professional versions of Software Bisque's TPoint and TCSpk™ programs (sold separately).

The included TheSky™ Universal bundle comes with TheSky™ Professional, TPoint™, Cameras+, Domes, Multi-OS+, and Weather modules; with supported operating systems including Windows™, macOS™, and Linux (on arm64, x86_64 architectures). The Taurus 600 can additionally utilize Software Bisque's Satellites module for mission-critical, scripted and ephemeris-based satellite tracking.

The Taurus is assembled from five separate components, each weighing less than 100 pounds (45 kg), making it the most easily deployable mount in its class. A two-person team can fully assemble the Paramount Taurus 600 in about one hour!
