A 65 mm, Apochromatic Astrograph from ZWO

The smallest refractor in ZWO's line, the FF65 APO is differentiated from its larger relatives by featuring a 5-element, 3+2 air-spaced quintuplet lens design! Two lenses are made of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to minimize chromatic and other aberrations. Its self-flattening design provides a flat field for imaging without the need of an additional field flattener accessory. Multiple included adapters give versatility to connecting a variety of cameras and other accessories to the scope. Finally, the 44 mm image circle supports full-frame camera sensors, for a larger field of view. With premium performance in a portable form factor, this refractor is a powerful option to have at the core of your lightweight astrophotography rig in 2025!

An Astrograph Worthy of the ZWO Name

This 65 mm apochromatic refractor from ZWO has some great specifications. A 65 mm aperture and 416 mm focal length produces a focal ratio of f/6.4 for this system. The large 2.5" dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser provides 1:10 fine adjustment.

In addition, the whole system is light weight. The optical tube weighs less than five pounds, while the tube and included accessories weigh just slightly over six pounds!

High Quality Optics in a Quintuplet Design
The ZWO FF65 apochromatic refractor features a 5-element, quintuplet design. Two of the lenses are made of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to minimize chromatic and other aberrations. The lenses are in a configuration that naturally flattens the field, making a separate field flattener accessory unnecessary. A 44 mm image circle supports full-frame camera sensors. The central RMS radius is 2.5um.

2.5" Rack and Pinion Focuser
For securely and smoothly adjusting focus, this telescope comes equipped with a 2.5" rack and pinion focuser. This mechanical design is known for its robust nature, ensuring that you can carry heavy modern imaging trains with ease. With dual-speed focus knobs, bringing the wonders of the night sky into focus can be fast and precise. If a more automated or electronically fine focusing experience is what you're after, this focuser comes EAF-ready—making attaching the ZWO Standard Electronic Automatic Focuser - 5V USB Version (sold separately) a snap!

Dedicated Focal Reducer (Sold Separately)
Capture a wide perspective and brighter images with the ZWO 0.75x Full-Frame Reducer for FF65-APO Refractor! As the name suggests, this addon for the ZWO 65 mm Apochromatic Quintuplet Refractor Optical Tube shortens your focal length while still covering larger image sensors. With its 0.75x reduction factor, this four element optical accessory transforms the FF65 APO from an 416 mm focal length f/6.4 optic to a 312 mm focal length f/4.8 astrophotography instrument. While this does reintroduce a backfocus requirement (55 mm), if you're trying to capture larger objects or collect more data in less time then this separate accessory is an invaluable upgrade to your FF65 APO!

Many Strong Features for Astrophotography
This astrograph from ZWO has many features that make it great for astrophotography. Included are three camera adapters (sized M48, M54, and M68) that allow for connecting a variety of cameras and accessories. The M48 adapter also has an internal female thread for attaching 2" filters. Built into the focuser is a 360-degree rotator, which allows for rotating an attached camera or accessory to the user's desired orientation. Also included with this 65 mm quintuplet refractor are tube rings with an integrated carrying handle, a Vixen-style dovetail plate, and a retractable dew shield.
