ZWO 80 mm Apochromatic Quadruplet Refractor Optical Tube
The 80 mm Apochromatic Astrograph from ZWO
Featuring 4 internal elements in a 3+1 air spaced quadruplet design, you can expect outstanding clarity with this 80 mm apochromatic refractor! Two of these lenses are premium, extra-low dispersion glass for further minimization of chromatic aberration and other optical distortions. Also, the Petzval design means there is no need to worry about purchasing a separate field flattener—the inherent flat field means the entire field of view will come into focus simultaneously for sharp, pinpoint stars from edge to edge. There is also no need to calculate back focal distance, simply connect your camera, and you’re ready to go.
As an industry leader in top-tier astronomy equipment, you can expect superb build quality with your ZWO FF107 Quad APO Refactor. The 3”, heavy duty Rack & Pinion focuser helps you dial in the focus with its two-speed design while also supporting hefty imaging equipment. Other necessities included within this package are a Vixen-style dovetail, multiple rear-end adapters, and cradle rings to secure your telescope in place. The 80 mm aperture of this premium refractor acts as a light bucket for beautifully bright sights, and the f/7.5 focal ratio and 600 mm focal length is ideal for observing a host of celestial objects. Also, enjoy imaging with today’s largest sensors thanks to the wide, 44 mm image circle. With a sleek, red and white finish, ZWO has you discovering the cosmos in style! Thanks to the outstanding craftsmanship from ZWO, this FF80-APO Refractor is a top choice for those seeking next-level performance in 2025.
An Astrograph Worthy of the ZWO Name
This 80 mm apochromatic refractor from ZWO has some great specifications. An 80 mm aperture and 600 mm focal length produces a focal ratio of f/7.5 for this system. The large 3" dual-speed, rack-and-pinion focuser provides 1:10 fine adjustment.
In addition, the whole system is lightweight. The optical tube weighs less than nine pounds, while the tube and included accessories together weigh just slightly over ten pounds!
High Quality Optics in a Quadruplet Design
The ZWO FF80 apochromatic refractor features a 4-element, quadruplet design. Two of the lenses are made of extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to minimize chromatic and other aberrations. The lenses are in a configuration that naturally flattens the field, making a separate field flattener accessory unnecessary.
Many Strong Features for Astrophotography
This astrograph from ZWO has many features that make it great for astrophotography. A 44 mm image circle supports full-frame camera sensors. The central RMS radius is 3um. Included are four camera adapters (sized M48, M54, M68, and M76) that allow for connecting a variety of cameras and accessories. The M48 adapter also has an internal female thread for attaching 2" filters. Also included is a 360-degree rotator, which allows for rotating an attached camera or accessory to the user's desired orientation.
Tube Rings, Dovetail, and Other Added Features
Also included with this 80 mm quadruplet refractor are tube rings with an integrated carrying handle, a Vixen-style dovetail plate, and a retractable dew shield. The large 3" dual-speed (1:10) rack-and-pinion focuser supports both fine and course adjustment and is compatible with the ZWO Electric Automatic Focuser (EAF) without the need for an additional adapter.
