This color CMOS USB 3.0 camera from ZWO features the Sony IMX482 sensor, with a 5.8 micrometer pixel size and a large full-well depth of 51.5ke. The IMX482 sensor provides about the same resolution as the IMX462, but with four times the sensor size and correspondingly larger pixel size.
The IMX482 sensor measure 11.13 mm x 6.26 mm with a diagonal measurement of 12.86 mm. Low signal-to-noise ratios make this camera particularly suitable for solar, lunar, and planetary imaging.
The ASI482MC features a USB 3.0 port which provides a 5Gb bandwidth to allow up to 82.5 FPS in 10-bit high speed mode or 57.5 FPS in 12-bit normal mode at the full resolution of ~2MP. The USB interface is backward compatible with USB 2.0. The ST4 port allows for connection to auto guiding mount ports for guiding.
