ZWO ASI6200 Pro USB3.0 Cooled Color Camera
If you are looking for a camera to accompany you on your deep sky astrophotography, planetary imaging, sky survey, microscopy, and forensic science imaging adventures, then ZWO has designed the camera for you! The ZWO ASI6200MC Pro color camera uses its full frame design and many features to create high quality images. Not only does this sleek red astronomy camera look good, its excellent noise reduction and video capabilities make this camera very versatile in its uses.
ZWO uses Sony's back-illuminated IMX455 Full Frame format native 16-bit ADV sensor. This 62 MP sensor has a pixel size of 3.76µm, and an ultra-low 1.2e readout noise and innovative breakthrough. Ultimately, this results in zero amp-glow! The sensor's length is 36mm X 24mm with a diagonal of 43.3mm. The ASI camera can accommodate a large well depth of 51.4ke.
This ZWO CMOS camera has an native 16bit ADC, and it can reach a dynamic range output of 14 stops, significantly improving the image sharpness and and contrast. The color changes are smoother and more natural as well.
There are several advantages to have a back-illuminated CMOS sensor. This type of sensor improves sensitivity and noise reduction. The back-illuminated sensor does this by minimizing the degradation of sensitivity to optical angle response while increasing the amount of light entering each pixel. The light is increased because of the lack of obstacles, such as wiring and transitors.
The ZWO ASI Color camera includes a polymide heater to combat dew formation on the optics. The anti-dew heater fits the protective window perfectly and the power draw is around 5W. The dew heater can be turned off by software to save power.
When it comes to cooling, the ASI6200 Pro camera uses two stage TEC cooling. This lowers the sensor's temperature to more than 35°C below ambient. This can reduce dark current generation and sensor noise, even during long exposures. When the camera is at a cooling temperature of 0°, the dark current noise is 0.003e/s/pix, meaning a 300s exposure can only cause 0.9e dark current noise.
The ASI6200 Pro comes with a USB3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR3 cache. The built-in memory cache ensures stable and secure data transmission. The camera effectively avoids frame dropping and reduces the glow efect casue by slow reading speed during long exposures.

The body of the ASI6200 camera is extremely light weight, which helps improve the performance of the camera. The ASI6200 camera weighs only 1.54 lb. (0.7 kg)! The short backfocus of 17.5 mm is on par with the other cooled ZWO cameras. This means that the ASI6200 camera body is easy to adapt to most telescopes systems, especially if the back focus is scarce.
