A Valuable Addition to Your Astro Toolkit!
Get closer to the beauty of the universe than ever before! Increasing the magnification of your optical system broadens your viewing opportunities and astrophotography capabilities, making it an essential tool for stargazing and astroimaging. Read on as we take a deep dive into the aspects of this Apertura 2x Barlow lens below.
Provides a Closer Look
By increasing your magnification by 2x, the target you’re viewing is much larger within your eyepiece or camera, making it easier to see existing details. This is especially useful for revealing planetary details such as the surface of Mars, the Cassini Division on Saturn, and Jupiter’s Great Red Spot. Barlow lenses also work wonders for the splitting of double stars, enhanced sights of the Moon’s craters, and can even help discern details on bright nebulae. With its fully multi-coated optics, you can expect exceptional light transmission through your eyepiece or sensor. Also, the blackened edges help increase contrast and reduce glare for improved clarity.
T2 Threads
Setting this Barlow lens apart is its integration of T2 (M42 x 0.75) threads. This inclusion offers direct connection to your DSLR with a camera-specific T-ring, and increases the effective focal length of your telescope by 2.5x! You also have the choice to connect any other type of camera with M42 T2 threads, such as a dedicated planetary camera. This type of connection can be achieved by removing the chrome barrel from the T2 Barlow lens and placing a 1.25” camera nosepiece in its stead. The rate of magnification provided within this configuration will vary from 1.5x to 2x, depending on the distance of the camera’s sensor to the Barlow lens element.
Durable in Design
TThis Apertura 2x Barlow Lens accepts 1.25” eyepieces making it useful with a wide variety of eyepieces on the market today. It can also be used with 1.25” filters for expanded viewing opportunities! The included thumb screw makes docking your eyepieces a breeze and holds them in place all night long with a non-marring compression ring. For secure gripping, the exterior of this Barlow lens features a rubberized finish.
