If you're looking to extend your Meade 8" LX90's mount's tripod options or
replace a stock tripod that is no longer serviceable/ lost, then the Apertura
8" LX90 Telescope to CPC HD Tripod Adapter has you covered! This CNC aluminum
plate converts fork-arm mount from Meade's Standard Field Tripod mounting
pattern to the pattern used on Celestron's Heavy Duty Tripod for CPC 1100
telescopes (tripod not included). Once converted, your Meade
8" LX90 mount can be mounted to Celestron's heavy duty stainless steel tripod
using that support solution's standard mount connection bolts! This conversion
is easily reversible, should you ever want to return your mount to its stock
tripod mounting style. All the hardware you need to complete this conversion
is included, allowing you to adapt your mount quickly and easily!
Please Note: This adapter kit is only compatible with the Celestron 93493
Heavy Duty Tripod for CPC 1100 Telescopes and
Meade 8" LX90 Mounts. LX90 mounts included with different
size telescope packages are not confirmed to be compatible.
Easy Installation
Installing the Apertura 8" LX90 Telescope to CPC HD Tripod Adapter is a quick and simple process. Start by laying down your Meade 8" LX90 mount on a clean, clear, and stable surface, with the bottom of the mount accessible. After ensuring that your mount is stable and secure, grab the adapter plate and mounting bolt included in this kit. Face the plate so that the 'Apertura' printing on the side will be right-side-up when the mount is in use, orienting the countersunk hole out towards you. Line the hole in the center of the plate up with the center of the mount, and thread the included bolt through the plate and into the center hole of the mount. Once you've threaded the bolt in a few turns, use the hex key included with this kit to finish threading the bolt into the mount, stopping once the bolt is snug but not over-tight. Your mount can now be installed on the Celestron heavy duty CPC tripod!

This adapter kit allows you to
convert your mount's tripod connection without sacrificing stability and
security! Made of CNC machined aluminum, this plate will provide a rock
solid platform for your observations. Threaded holes allow it to adapt to
Celestron's CPC 1100 tripod without modification of the tripod itself, and
the plate can easily be removed to restore the native Meade Standard Field
Tripod connection.

Apertura 8" LX90 Telescope to CPC HD Tripod Adapter allows you to adapt your
Meade 8" LX90 mount to the
Celestron's Heavy Duty Tripod For CPC 1100
(sold separately). This tripod features solid, adjustable, stainless steel
legs that sets your mount base at between 55" to 70" of height. It weighs 19
lb., and can be collapsed (along with its built-in three-arm stabilizer) for
storage. A generously sized tray additionally provides 6 accessory cups and
recessed accessory space, while adding additional leg stabilization.
