With its long cone built for insulating the corrector plate, the Apertura 9.25" SCT Dew Shield can provide additional benefits in areas where stray light from street lights or houses is a concern by blocking this off-axis light from entering the optics and degrading the view/image.

Flexible, Durable, ABS Construction
To create a dew shield that is sturdy enough to form a rigid cone around your optics, but malleable enough that it can be removed and adjusted over and over again, Apertura has made the 9.25" NexStar Evolution SCT Dew Shield out of ABS. Well-known for its durability, ABS is used in many hard-use applications and is a perfect choice for a tough shield that you can use - and then roll up or press flat for storage - for years to come.
Dew Prevention and Light Rejection Power
Dew shields guard your optics from moisture by creating a "pocket" of warmer air in front of the corrector plate. By utilizing ABS in its construction, this Apertura Dew Shield excels at trapping this warmer air and passively keeping your optics above the dewpoint for longer. These shields have an added benefit of blocking stray light from entering the optics and degrading your viewing or imaging experience, but Apertura has taken it a step further by lining the inside of the dew shield with a light absorbing material. Known as flocking, this prevents light from reflecting off the inside surface of the shield, keeping your views as crisp as possible.
A Secure, Finish-Safe, Fit
This Apertura 9.25" Dew Shield has been designed to fit the 9.25" Celestron NexStar Evolution Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope, hugging the front of your OTA. With a full-length strip of Velcro on the dew shield's edges, this is easy to install and will stay right where you put it! Simply line up the 9.25" SCT Dew Shield's notch, wrap around, and press the ends together to add a layer of dew and stray light protection to your SCT. To provide the best seal and protect the finish of the telescope, a 2" section of soft padding foam runs across the entire contact area.
