The custom foam interior provides dedicated storage for the telescope, dew shield, mount, tripod, tripod spreader, AC power supply, and the telescope instruction manual. The interior foam is shaped to support the Origin smart telescope at multiple points to keep the system stable during transport. You can place accessories such as cables, power supplies, or other small components into the accessory compartments provided.
Constructed with Safety in Mind
This Apertura Deluxe Hard case is made in the USA with a rigid shell made of molded, no-break, co-polymer polypropylene that provides protection from bumps, impacts, and general handling that can occur when moving equipment. The case lid is secured using four heavy-duty latches with a patented push-button system located along the front edge of the case. The multi-latch design helps distribute pressure evenly across the lid and keeps the case securely closed during transport. A TSA approved GORE TEX automatic air valve equalizes pressure during altitude or temperature changes, making the case suitable for air travel. The case is also rated IP67 waterproof and dustproof to help protect your equipment from moisture, dust, and environmental exposure. When it comes to the interior of the case, you will find high-density, 1.7 lb. polyethylene foam shaped to support the Celestron Origin telescope and mount assembly. A 14560 convoluted foam layer inside the lid provides extra cushioning when the case is closed. When properly packed, the telescope is surrounded by foam on all sides for improved protection.
Includes Convenient Handles and Wheels
The case includes several reinforced carry handles that allow the case to be lifted from multiple orientations. When lifting the case, always support the weight evenly and use appropriate lifting techniques. Make sure to ask for help moving the case, when necessary. The integrated wheels and a retractable pull handle allow the case to be rolled over smooth surfaces such as parking lots, sidewalks, and observing fields. You can retract the pull handle when not in use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a case necessary for a telescope?
It is highly recommended to obtain a compatible case for your telescope. Proper protection, even during transport and storage, are incredibly important to maintain the performance and condition of your telescope. Especially when traveling, the chances of your telescope getting damaged increases, so it is important to take steps to protect your equipment. There are many cases that are designed specifically for certain telescopes and accessories, but there are others that are meant to work with a range of equipment. When in doubt, check the measurements of your equipment against the measurements of the case to see if it will fit your needs.
Are hard cases waterproof?
Not all hard cases are made the same. Some may be waterproof, others may not be, or may just be water resistant. Make sure to check the manual and/or the product listing to get the correct information for your case. Regarding the Apertura Deluxe Hard Case for the Celestron Origin specifically, the case is rated IP67 waterproof and dustproof to help protect your equipment from moisture, dust, and environmental exposure.
Do I need to clean my telescope case?
To maintain the performance and appearance of the case, periodic cleaning and inspection are recommended. For the Apertura Deluxe Hard case for Celestron Origin, the exterior of the case can be cleaned using a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid using harsh solvents or abrasive cleaners that may damage the surface. The foam inserts should be kept dry and free of debris. If dust or small particles accumulate, they may be removed using compressed air, a soft brush, or vacuum cleaner. Make sure to inspect the latches and handles periodically to ensure they are functioning properly and securely attached. Make sure to avoid prolonged exposure to extreme heat, direct sunlight, or moisture during storage. Additionally, do not place heavy objects on top of the case that may deform the lid or compress the foam interior.
Are hard cases better than soft cases?
Hard cases are generally designed to provide additional protection that soft cases may not be able to deliver. The hard material of the case offers additional durability, and the foam (when included) provides cushion for the telescope when moving around. When comparing cases, check their specifications and any add-ons that may make one choice superior to the other when it comes to your specific use case.
