This lifting strap is designed specifically for Apertura 8", 10", and 12" Dobsonian optical tubes, though it should fit any 8-12" Dobsonian tube from other manufacturers.
This lifting strap wraps around the tube to create a handle for more easy and convenient lifting and transportation. The strap is adjustable and is held securely around the tube through Velcro-style hook and loop fasteners. The lifting strap is best placed near the bearings of the optical tube. As the bearings denote the center of gravity for the tube, balance is much better when the strap is attached at this location.
The lifting strap potentially allows the Dobsonian optical tube to be transported with one hand, though two hands are recommended.
