The Apertura Roll Easy kit is essentially a roller kit for your Dobsonian telescope base. Adding this kit to your telescope will provide your Dob with a built-in caster system. Mounting Bars for Stability
Using the included mounting bars, you can securely install the Roll Easy Kit upgrade to your existing Dobsonian base. The Apertura mounting bars are proudly fabricated and finished in New York, USA. They have been designed to make at-home installation a clean and easy process, and made strong to ensure your Dobsonian remains just as firmly planted as it always has been.
Height Increase
Adding the Apertura Roll Easy kit will increase the height of your eyepiece. This kit adds approximately 7" of height to the base. This added height will be a welcome addition to many users, as it will decrease the chance that you will need to bend as far to look through the eyepiece. Bending over an eyepiece without an observing chair is tiresome, and this kit's added height can provide some comfort whether you are using a chair or not.
Locking Casters
Each included caster can be fully locked both in the swivel and the wheel. When locked, you will be able to keep your targets steady in the eyepiece as you manually track the objects through your Dobsonian telescope. Folding the lever down locks the casters into place. When you are ready to move the telescope, all you need to do is flip the casters up, and you can move the base freely.
Dobsonian Telescope Compatibility
The Apertura Roll Easy Caster kit is designed to work with several different Dobsonian telescopes. This upgrade kit will work with all Apertura AD series Dobsonians, as well as both current productions of the Celestron StarSense 8" and 10" Dobsonians. This means that when you are ready to upgrade the size of your telescope, you will not need to purchase an additional Apertura Roll Easy kit!
Everything You Need
This kit has everything you need to install the casters on your Dobsonian base, excluding a hand drill. The included components are as follows: Three premium 6" casters, three caster mounting bars, #10 x 1 black oxide mounting bar screws, small stainless steel mounting bar washers, large stainless steel caster mounting washers, 5/16-18 stainless steel caster mounting screws, a 1/8" drill bit, a #2 Phillips head screwdriver, and a 3/16" hex key.
