The triplet design corrects the incoming light to a high degree of precision for sharp, high contrast detail within your frames. Optimized for full frame imaging, you can expect pinpoint stars across a 44 mm image circle for beautiful, widefield shots! The 55 mm of required backfocus is easily achievable with today’s selection of astroimaging cameras, enabling seamless integration within your imaging train. As a 1x field flattener, the field of view of your Askar 160APO will not be affected, allowing you to take full advantage of the 1120 mm native focal length.

Designed with durability in mind, this Askar 160APO Flattener features a CNC machined body for the utmost optical performance and longevity. The sleek, black finish provides a premium feel, and the robust design offers a solid platform for your imaging equipment. This accessory adds little bulk to your setup with its total weight of 1.2 lbs. (0.56 kg). At the camera end, you’ll find three adapters for seamless camera integration: M68*1, M54*0.75, and M48*0.75. You can also directly install your 2” filters with the built-in M48*0.75 2-inch filter threads. Two threaded metal caps keep the optical lenses safe when not in use.

Effortless Attachment
Installing this flattener onto your Askar 160APO is quick and easy. First, remove the 2” and 1.25” adapter from your refactor. Next, unthread the metal dust cap from this flattener, and insert it within your telescope as demonstrated in the featured photo. After securing it in place, you’re all set to attach your imaging equipment!
