Attaching this Askar 1x flattener to your 185mm refractor will not change the focal ratio, which is f/7. The goal of this flattening accessory is to correct field curvature and coma so you can have flatter field edges and finer star points during your imaging sessions. This flattener weighs in at only 1.74 lb (0.79 kg)., and the body of the field flattener is CNC machined for durability, and it comes with two threaded end caps for both ends of the flattener. These end caps protect your optics during times of storage and travel.

Optical Performance
The Askar 1x flattener utilizes a triplet lens design to provide field curvature and coma correction once it's attached to the Askar 185APO refractor. This ultimately results in flatter field edges and finer point starts. The flattener supports a 44mm full-frame image circle, and it has a standard 55mm backfocus from the M48 thread.
All You Need for a Smooth Connection
The threads on the body of the Askar 1x field flattener are the following: the front thread is M84x1, and the camera end is a M68x1 thread. Included with the flattener are three adapter threads for convenient connection. These three adapter threads are M68x1, M54x0.75, and M48x0.75. The body of the flattener also comes with a built-in M48x0.75 2" filter thread, so you can easily attach your desired filters and seamlessly incorporate the filters and the flattener into your imaging train.
How to Connect Your Flattener
In order to connect your Askar 1x flattener to the APO refractor, you will need to remove the 1.25" to 2" adapter on the rear of the included focuser by unscrewing and setting it carefully aside. Next, remove the dust cap from the flattener and screw the body of the reducer onto the OTA where the adapter previously attached. Once you ensure that it is securely threaded onto the OTA, you are good to go!
