Formatted in a round 50 mm threaded cell, this Astronomik Dark Frame Filter is designed specifically for CCD cameras that do not use a mechanical shutter. In order to capture dark frames without the hassle of having to constantly inspect your imaging setup, this filter is required. An even better fit for use in conjunction with a filter wheel, this opaque filter/filter wheel merger facilitates dark frame capture without your telescope needing to be capped off.
The use of an Astronomik Dark Frame filter is imperative for Interline CCD camera models that don't include a mechanical shutter from the likes of Starlight Xpress, Imaging Source, Atik, and others.
