The fourth generation of the Hyperion Zoom eyepiece improves on the previous model with a lighter, slimmer design, while still providing a seamless and vivid viewing experience. With five total (8, 12, 16, 20 and 24mm) focal lengths to choose from, you’ll be able to explore the rich details of both terrestrial and celestial scenes from a variety of perspectives. Unlike other continuous zoom eyepieces, the Mark IV provides quiet "click-stop" feedback for each of the five focal lengths. That means you can stay immersed in the experience while intuitively switching between magnifications. The eyepiece itself boasts premium Phantom Coated glass optics, a flat field design that maintains sharp views across the entire FOV, and fine-tuned parfocal performance. The Mark IV includes (2) threaded barrel skirt adapters (1.25" and 2"), (2) 1 3/8" threaded adapters for telescopes and spotting scopes, (3) removeable eyecups (winged, foldable, & adjustable) AND a heavy-duty tool-belt style soft pouch. You'll also receive a plastic twist top storage case!

Phantom Multi-Coated Parfocal Optics
Zoom eyepieces offer unparalleled ease of use, however, this often comes at the cost of optical performance. With the Hyperion Zoom Mark IV Eyepiece, you won't have to trade performance for ease of use! The 7 Phantom coated lens elements are arranged into 4 groups, providing excellent color precision and clear, high contrast views. This eyepiece is also parfocal meaning you won't need to adjust focus when seamlessly switching between magnifications! And the flat field optical design allows this eyepiece to maintain a sharp, undistorted image across the entire field of view. Finally, the Mark IV was crafted with a variety of users in mind, which is why it features a fine-tuned eye relief that ensures clear views regardless of eyewear!
Improved Multi-Purpose Design
The Hyperion Zoom Mark IV Eyepiece has a slimmer diameter (55mm) than the previous model, and slightly lighter weight (10.2 ounces). These improvements make the Mark IV an excellent choice for binoviewers and astronomers on the move. Instead of relying on barrel undercuts, the Mark IV features unique Zero-Tilt safety kerfs, which reduces the tendency of an eyepiece from slipping out of an unlocked eyepiece clamp. The cold weather performance has also been improved, with refined zoom rails, and the click-stop mechanism is now even smoother than before, allowing for easier, and quieter, functionality. Additionally, the Mark IV has almost 4mm of extra back focus, which can be further increase with the inclusion of the A adapter, allowing this eyepiece to be used with spotting scopes that wouldn't other be able to each focus!
Endless Adaptability
The Baader Hyperion Zoom Mark IV is more than just an eyepiece. It includes multiple adapters and has a deeply customizable design. The (3) included eyepiece cups thread onto the Mark IV via M43 threads on top of the eyepiece, which can also be adapted for use with a variety of adapters, such a M43 T-ring (not included). The Mark IV also comes with detachable 2" and 1.25" barrel skirts, which allow the eyepiece to work with either a 2" or 1.25" focuser without changing the magnification range. Beyond the barrel skirts and eyepiece cups, the Mark IV includes (2) 1 3/8" threaded adapters that allow the eyepiece to attach to a wider range of telescopes and *spotting scopes!
*This eyepiece, with the included spotting scope adapter, does not work with "all spotting scopes" that accept 1.25" eyepieces (as Baader claims on their packaging and elsewhere). Please contact Baader directly for more insight into compatible spotting scopes.
