In addition to large 27 mm prisms enclosed within a die-cast mould devised using Carl Zeiss production drawings, the Baader MaxBright II Binoviewer also offers maximum comfort via a non-slip leather exterior, as well as maximum stability via a stainless steel interior. On the eyepiece side, you’ll find a self-centering 1.25” ClickLock eyepiece holder with diopter adjustment. With this design, eyepiece marring and other potential damage is kept to a minimum, while wobble and off-axis tilt are completely eliminated. The ability to distinguish between clamping and diopter adjustment is an especially useful feature for using this binoviewer at your dark sky location of choice. High quality eyepiece clamps give the MaxBright II’s precisely collimated optical system with 7-layer multi-coating the necessary stability.
The MaxBright II's telescope side contains a Zeiss Micro Bayonet Mounting Adapter with T-2 cap nut for attaching the included 1.25" T-2 nosepiece in order to conserve backfocus. Standard M42 T-threads allow this binoviewer to be mounted to your scope via a variety of accessories including SCT visual back adapters, spacers, 1.25" and 2" nosepieces, and Baader's T-2 modular accessory system. Telescope side clear aperture measures 26 mm while the eyepiece side has 25.5 mm of clear aperture.
