ED Objective Lenses
Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass virtually eliminates chromatic aberration, also known as color fringing, a visual defect common in binoculars. TrailSeeker ED binoculars deliver edge-to-edge sharpness with excellent color correction and razor-sharp images.
Not all ED glass is identical. The ED glass used by Celestron is superior in quality and produces noticeably brighter images with increased sharpness compared to binoculars without ED glass. The difference is more obvious when light conditions are low at sunup or sundown.
Coatings and Prisms
TrailSeeker ED Binoculars contain fully multi-coated optics, as well as BaK-4 prisms with phase and dielectric coatings. For a binocular to be deemed "fully multi-coated," all air-to-glass surfaces must be coated with multiple layers of anti-reflectivity coatings to allow the greatest amount of light possible be transmitted through to the viewer's eye.
The prism inside the TrailSeeker ED is made of high quality BaK-4 glass with both phase and dielectric coatings so that more light is reflected off the prism and diverted through the eye. Taken together, fully multi-coatings and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for the brightest, most detailed images possible.

TrailSeeker ED binoculars feature tough, lightweight magnesium alloy composition. Their sturdy, rigid frame is rubber coated to endure under severe outdoor conditions. This binoculars also offers full waterproof protection and is filled with dry nitrogen gas to prevent internal lens fogging. TrailSeeker ED binoculars hold up even when outdoor conditions are at their harshest.
