Celestron 9.25" Dew Heater Ring

Made for 9.25" SCT and EdgeHD telescopes, this Celestron Dew Ring provides direct heat to your C925's corrector lens to protect your optics in damp conditions by minimizing the amount of dew that gets through to your system. Dew heater rings are critical to ideal observing and imaging performance. To install, simply substitute this ring for the retaining ring by permanently mounting it to your 9.25” SCT. How It Works

Replacing the plastic retaining ring on your 9.25" SCT's corrector lens with this Celestron Dew Heater Ring leads to better dew protection via more productive heating across the lens. With a solid frame made out of tough but lightweight aluminum, this dew ring is capable of supporting the corrector lens as well as any cable wiring currently in operation. While other heating bands or strips provide indirect warmth to the glass by heating the lens cell, the Celestron Dew Heater Ring averts dew formation by directly heating the lens.

Simply plug the ring into an external 12V DC power source for consistent, continuous heat that will prevent dew from forming even under heavy dew conditions. The Dew Heater Ring features two storage clips to keep the power and thermistor jacks secure when not in use while accommodating the telescope's dust cover.

Enclose the power and thermistor jack to prevent them from hanging down while limiting undesired pulls on the cable to ring connection with the use of the cable management clip also included with this Dew Heater Ring. Hooks up to the front cell of the telescope.

Enhance Your Setup

To achieve the highest level of dew prevention while maximizing power efficiency, Celestron strongly recommends pairing the Dew Heater Ring with a Smart DewHeater Controller (sold separately). The controller uses the ring's built-in thermistor and its internal environmental sensor to provide just the right amount of heat to the corrector to prevent dew based upon the ambient temperature, ambient humidity, and temperature of the Schmidt corrector, which can dramatically reduce the ring’s power draw, greatly increasing battery life. The ring also includes an extension cable for connecting the ring directly to one of the controllers’ heater output ports, or to a third-party controller’s heater output port. (Note: the ring’s integrated thermistor is only compatible with the Celestron Smart DewHeater Controllers).

Celestron also recommends adding a dew shield to your setup. While not mandatory, a shield will cut down on the amount of power the Dew Heater Ring needs to keep the optics clear.
