A Versatile Solar Filter for Your Equipment!

With this Celestron Universal Solar filter, you can now turn your telescope, spotting scope, or DSLR camera into a solar viewing tool! The Celestron EclipSmart Universal Solar filter is perfect for viewing the Sun and experiencing future solar eclipses. This universal filter is incredibly easy to use, affordable, and Solar Safe! The EclipSmart Solar Filter works with any optics or lenses that measure 75mm to 100 mm in diameter. This compatibility includes telescopes, spotting scopes, and DSLR camera lenses.

The Universal Solar Filter from Celestron is made of sturdy card stock and comes with hook-and-loop fasteners. The solar filter meets the ISO 12312-2 safety standard, blocking 99.999% of intense light and all harmful IR and UV radiation. With this blocking safety standard, the filter will still reveal sunspots and super granules on the solar surface and the corona during an eclipse. If you decide you want to use tape to secure the Celestron solar filter to your equipment, Celestron recommends opting for low tack painter's tape to prevent damage to your optics or the finish of your equipment. The solar filter has adjustable side panels that secures the filter to your optics with a rubber band that provides a snug fit. There are two rubber bands included, but it is recommended you frequently change out the #32 rubber bands. When it’s not in use, it's best to fold the filter flat and place it inside the reusable bag so it is not damaged between uses.

Please Note: Upon receiving your EclipSmart filter, you will notice "wrinkles" or "waves" in the film. Waves and wrinkles are normal. Hard creases, however, are not normal. While EclipSmart film with hard creases is still safe, the creases may degrade the quality of the image. Do not use if there are any puncture marks, holes, or tears in the filter.

Important Safety Notice: You should never use this Celestron filter with a camera that is equipped with an optical viewfinder. If you are unsure what kind of viewfinder is on your camera, it is best not to use this solar filter. Make sure the filter is placed directly onto the camera lens during imaging sessions and never between the viewfinder and your eye.
