In comparison, the Apertura Solar Finder is already equipped with a finderbase for use straight out of the box! This Synta-style finderbase fits snugly into the findershoe of nearly all telescopes. The glass projection screen furthers this universal design by allowing for use from two angles: the top view and bottom view. Dobsonian users will benefit from alignment through the top view, while the bottom view is perfect for SCT or refractor users. The simple design of this Solar Finder prevents you from accidentally looking at the Sun and damaging your eyes, and its high quality anodized aluminum body was built to last!

Operates as a Projector
The pin hole at the top of the Apertura Solar Finder projects a small ray of sunlight that is to be aligned with the glass projection screen. Simply adjust the pointing position of your telescope until these two are in alignment, and you’re good to go! This trouble-free method offers incredible accuracy in very little time, and takes the frustration out of finding the Sun.
Adjustable Azimuth Base
Unlike other solar finders models, the Apertura Solar Finder comes furnished with two robust nylon bolts for adjustment of this device’s azimuth. This left and right motion offers users the flexibility to fine tune the accuracy of solar alignment by conforming it to their specific telescope set up. To make these adjustments, loosen these screws and position the Solar Finder in a manner that coincides with the view in your eyepiece or camera. Retighten the screws and you’re all set! Please note: This purchase does not include a finderscope bracket shoe. We suggest separately purchasing the Apertura SCT shoe or the Apertura Version II Premium finderscope shoe for non-SCT telescopes. Make sure to check compatibility before purchasing.
