If you are using the scope for astrophotographic adventures, it is recommended to use stable motorized EQ mount however, a wide variety of lightweight, sturdy field and photo tripods will do just fine as well. The photo tripods will need to feature the same integrated dovetail mounting base which features a threaded 1/4" - 20 acceptor.
