Working in conjunction with software, this Motor Focus Kit finds the precise focal point of your optics. This makes your focusing routine quick, easy, and hassle free! This is especially useful during long imaging sessions where changes in temperature cause a shift in focus, requiring periodic refocusing. Installation is simple, and you can how often you’d like to refocus your telescope for the sharpest images possible!
Designed specifically for SCT users, the black anodized aluminum bracket fits perfectly on your Celestron 14” SCT. A zero backlash bipolar stepper motor delivers the high torque necessary for these types of optics and shifts focus quickly and smoothly. Utilizing a pulley system, this prevents collision with your filter wheel when a focal reducer is used. Important note: As this device is solely a motor kit, you will need a user supplied motor controller to drive the motor. Connect the Dual Motor Focus Controller, Pegasus Astro Ultimate Powerbox, or eXternal Motor Controller for full functionality of this Motor Focus Kit Zero.
Hassle-Free Installation!
Installing this Motor Focus Kit is simple and straightforward! This device replaces the focusing knob with a pulley system to bring your optics into focus. Simply attach the Motor Focus Kit Zero around your focusing shaft with the specialized bracket, connect one of the pulleys to the focusing shaft, then join the two pulleys with the included belt. This focus motor features a bore diameter of 22mm and has been designed to fit Celestron 14” telescopes.
Multiple Means of Control
This Motor Focuser Kit requires an external control system for operation. Three different Pegasus Astro products are ideal for this: the Dual Motor Focus Controller, Ultimate Powerbox V2 or V3, or the eXternal Motor Controller. The Dual Motor Focus Controller offers connection to your computer for software functionality and also provides manual focus of this motor. Similarly, the Ultimate Powerbox also allows for computer connection and supplies power to your motor and other equipment you may have, though does not offer manual focus abilities. These two devices utilize ASCOM and INDI drivers for use with almost any image capture platform. If you already have an Ultimate Powerbox V2 and would like to expand its focusing capabilities, add the eXternal Motor Controller, which was designed with an additional EXT port. You can also utilize this eXternal Motor Controller to bring focus functionality to the Pocket Powerbox Advance or Pocket Powerbox Micro.
Please Note: Pegasus Astro states that their Unity software suite currently does not work with Windows machines equipped with the Snapdragon line of CPUs.
