Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Mini Astrograph
Maximize Your Data with an Incredible Minigraph
Sprint to stunning astrophotos with this ultra-fast scope! Utilizing a unique optical design, this telescope adds super speedy f/2 light gathering power to your setup in a compact package. Maximize your imaging sessions on your lightweight rig, with the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Mini Astrograph!
When you're looking to create incredible images in a short amount of time you need speed—and with the HAC125DX Mini Astrograph you get some of the fastest optics available today! By utilizing a HAC optical design, Sky-Watcher gives you an astounding f/2 focal ratio in a compact package. This means you can collect images just as bright as some already respectably quick telescopes in a fraction of the time, with a scope that only weighs 8.4 lb. and is at home on some of the incredible grab-and-go mounts available today. This fast and compact philosophy gives you 250 mm focal length for powerful panoramic images, covering larger targets like the Andromeda Galaxy even when paired with some smaller sensors. Designed for popular IMX585 and IMX533 sensors in this compact sensor category with its 16 mm image circle, you can create stunning images on a limited timetable—perfect for short trips out to a dark site, or conquering your next astrophoto idea as fast as possible!
Blazing Fast Optical Design
The shining center of this stellar scope is the Honders-Advanced Catadioptric (HAC) optical design. Utilizing a mix of reflective, refractive components, and a front camera placement that forgoes folding the light path again like other common catadioptric designs, this design is able to deliver an incredibly fast f/2 focal ratio to your camera. This makes the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Mini Astrograph able to capture images of the same brightness not 3x, but about 3.7x to 5x faster than other popular compact telescopes that sport focal ratios around f/5, depending on how much additional obstruction your camera of choice adds. Realize a significant speed boost with small cooled sensor* or "puck-style" cameras, or maximize your data collection with mini form factor imaging equipment! The HAC optical design has corrective optics built-in as well, meaning that the bright images it forms are also superbly sharp. This advanced configuration is also very compact, which combined with its outstanding imaging performance create what Sky-Watcher calls a mini astrograph—or minigraph for short!
Please Note: The included M42 adapter features internal and external threading, with 6.5 mm and 12.5 mm backfocal requirements respectively. With normal native camera backspacing conventions this will limit cooled camera compatibility to options like the ZWO ASI533MM/MC Pro camera which can accommodate this adapter and backspacing with the 11 mm thread spacer removed.
Collect Your Data Without the Weight
With a unique set of optics the Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Mini Astrograph can provide you with results quicker than most other optics on the market, from a form factor that is a perfect pair for smaller/ portable mounts. Wait no more, with this light-weight miniature astrograph!
Speedy 125 mm Optics
The Sky-Watcher HAC125DX Mini
Astrograph features a 125 mm aperture feeding the novel Honders-Advanced
Catadioptric optical design. This HAC prescription takes the almost 5"
of light gathering power and bounces it off the Radiant Aluminum Quartz
(RAQ)™ coated Mangin mirror to the HTMC™ coated corrector plate
and through the corrective optics to form a bright f/2 image across a 16 mm
image circle. What this results in for you is a well-corrected image of deep
sky objects resolving on your smaller format camera in an incredibly short
period of time. Sky-Watcher states that the exposure time you'll need is so
short in fact you may not need autoguiding with this scope! With a 250 mm
focal ratio, this optical design gives you a wide take on the night sky;
allowing you to quickly capture the breathtaking beauty of objects like the
Pleiades and Orion Nebulae!
Compact Astrograph Build
The HAC optical design
doesn't just make the HAC125DX fast, it also makes it a compelling compact
telescope option! At just 15.7" in length, 6.3" in diameter, and
8.4 lb. in weight, this scope is perfectly at home on some standout portable
mounts like the
Sky-Watcher EQ-AL55i Mount
and
Sky-Watcher Wave 100i Strainwave Mount. Focusing the quick and compact optics on your target is achieved via
helical focus knob on the rear housing which holds the collimatable Mangin
primary mirror. This allows your camera to stay static in the front
corrector assembly, making cable management simple!
What's In The Box
Included with the Sky-Watcher
HAC125DX Mini Astrograph are a number of essentials to get your minigraph
rig up and running out-of-the-box! Connecting this compact imaging scope to
your mount is a set of clamshell style scope rings paired with a V-style
dovetail bar. Adding your imaging, autoguiding, and WiFi camera control gear
can be done simply; with both M42x0.75 and 1.25" adapters included that will
connect most cameras this scope can accommodate, and two Synta-style
findershoes for guidescopes and wireless control centers. Finally, to combat
dew and stray light Sky-Watcher has included a dew shield with cable
passthrough to make routing data and power connections tidier!
