0.5X Reduction
This focal reducer features a 0.5x
reduction factor with your gear installed around 50 mm. This provides an
incredible 50% reduction in effective focal ratio,
dramatically increasing the field of view by effectively reducing the focal
length of your telescope and brightening the image reaching your camera
sensor. This can turn a moderate reach 1000 mm focal length f/9 telescope
into a wide 500 mm f/4.5 astroimaging setup! The optical design achieves
this feat by compressing your telescope's image circle. This is done without
adding any correction, making this accessory well suited for smaller sensor
cameras and a wider variety of telescopes than some other reducers. This
also allows you to experiment with spacing to compress the image circle even
further for an even brighter image. With a design conducive to tweaking,
