Upgrade Your Apertura 90 mm Triplet APO Refractor with this Reducer/Flattener

The Apertura R-FLAT 0.8x Reducing Flattener provides a magnificently corrected field of view at the very extremes of an APS-C sensor. The Apertura reducer/flattener also provides excellent performance when correcting and illuminating a full-frame camera. When you add this reducing accessory from Apertura to your 90 mm Triplet OTA, you are optimizing your scope with a near-perfect field of view!

This upgrade to the Apertura 90 mm Triplet APO provides the same wide field of view as an Apertura 72EDR but with the resolution and light-gathering clarity of our 90mm Triplet APO objective. While the Apertura 90 mm comes with a 1x field flattener, this Apertura 0.8x reducer shortens the focal length of the OTA to about 430 mm. Therefore, it converts the f/6 90 mm scope into an f/4.8 astrograph. The shorter focal length provides a wider field of view and more signal per given exposure time or the same signal per pixel in a shorter exposure time.

A High-Quality Upgrade to Make the Most Out of Your Astro-Imaging

The Apertura 0.8x reducing flattener is designed from high-quality material and includes blue accents to match the blue on the 90 mm OTA. Learn more about the back focus requirements and filter compatibility of the 0.8x field/flattener below:

Back Focal Requirement
The back focal requirements are an industry standard 55mm from the flange to the camera sensor. Please Note : This auxiliary optic is intended for imaging use only and is not designed with visual observations using eyepieces.

Filter Compatibility
The blue knurled ring can be removed from the optic, where a 2” mounted filter can be installed, and then the blue ring reinstalled on the flattener. This allows you to easily use filters with a DSLR or astronomical camera. Please Note : The filter pictured is not included.
