As ZWO recommends using a 22 lb. (10 kg) counterweight for the AM7 Harmonic
Equatorial Mount, this Apertura counterweight is the perfect solution. Now, you
can realize the maximum lifting power of your harmonic equatorial mount,
boosting the standard 44 lb. payload capacity of the ZWO AM7 to 66 lbs.
Enjoy piling on beefier telescopes, heavier cameras, larger filter wheels,
and plenty more with this unlocked payload capacity!

coat finish of this weight, offering a stylish matte black surface that
compliments the aesthetic of the ZWO AM7 perfectly. This texture goes beyond
visuals however, as it also offers enhanced grip during setup. Helping
secure this weight to your counterweight bar is the non-marring, brass
securing shaft with 2” of surface area to protect the integrity of your
counterweight bar. At the end of this ⅜” threaded brass shaft is the
ergonomically-designed locking knob made of high-end polypropylene. Perfect
for large hands, this locking knob offers increased grip with its
user-centric, yet stylish texture. This Apertura 22 lb. Counterweight for
ZWO AM7 Mount is fully manufactured within the United States.
Counterweight Placement
The core aspect of harmonic gearing systems is their exceptionally high
torque capabilities, meaning the addition of a counterweight on these mounts
varies slightly from that of a German equatorial mount. As far as
counterweight placement goes, harmonic gearing systems do not need to be
perfectly balanced to achieve optimal performance. ZWO recommends a 20-30 cm
moment arm for the best results, and when using the counterweight shaft
included within the box, this means placing this Apertura 22 lb.

Equipped with super-beefy industrial zippers, high quality polyester, and
convenient carrying straps, this case is a perfect tool to store and
transport your Apertura 22 lb. Counterweight for the ZWO AM7! These
industrial zippers ensure your counterweight stays snug within this case,
and the tightly woven 600D polyester fiber protects from the outside
elements. While the case is not waterproof, it is fine-dust-resistant.
