Apertura 6" Dew Shield for Classical Cassegrain

Prevent the elements from impacting your observations, with this high quality dew shield from Apertura! Premium ABS and reflection defeating flocking have been combined with a tailor made fit for sleek and effective dew prevention solution for your Apertura 6" Classical Cassegrain. Conquer challenging conditions on your astronomical explorations, with the Apertura 6" Dew Shield for Classical Cassegrain!

While the Classic Cassegrain design offers more inherent environmental protection than its Schmidt-Cassegrain cousin, it is not immune from dew and off-axis light. When it comes to less than ideal observation conditions, Apertura has a custom solution for you with the Apertura 6" Dew Shield for Classical Cassegrain! This Made in USA shield combines a rugged ABS backbone with reflection resistant flocking to create a powerful layer of added protection against challenging conditions. These have been combined with superior stitching reinforcement and a design tailor made for the Apertura 6" Classic Cassegrain telescope, all backed by Apetura's incredible and industry leading warranty!

Learn More About the Apertura 6" Dew Shield

Read on to discover how Apertura has carefully crafted this dew shield to provide your astronomy outings with a premium level protection!

Rugged ABS
Providing the backbone of the Apertura 6" Dew Shield for Classical Cassegrain is premium ABS. Flexible, durable, and thermally insulating, ABS provides your Apertura 6" Classical Cassegrain with a rigid wall of protection against the elements when installed, and a flat, flexible sheet when your session is over. This rugged material is also resistant to the elements, ensuring your shield lasts for years to come!

Dew and Light Shield
Apertura has paired ABS backing with an excellent felt flocking lining for an effective barrier against the outside elements. This combination acts as a wall against the outside air, providing passive dew protection by helping trap a pocket of air in front of your telescope's front element. This extends the time it takes for dew to form on your optics, allowing you to enjoy an entire session free from moisture or helping an active anti-dew solution work more efficiently. The additional cone in front of the optics also makes light's barrier to entry higher, helping stop sources of off-axis light from hitting your optics and lowering contrast with the flocking halting any light that does pass from reflecting off the shield itself.

Telescope Compatibility
This dew shield has been designed specifically for the Apertura 6" Classical Cassegrain Telescope. Simply overlay the sections of hook and loop to lock the shield in a cone, and slip the shield over the front of the telescope tube while lining up the notch with the mounting bar of the telescope. A strip of foam provides the gentle pressure needed to keep the shield in place, and protects your telescope's finish!
