Make the bands of Jupiter pop, bring out the faint detail hidden behind the incredible illumination of our Moon, highlight Mars' polar ice caps, and more with just one filter set! With a curated selection of filters, this set will enhance your view of some of our solar system's most inspiring observable objects. Elevate your exploration of our Moon and planetary neighbors today, with the Apertura 1.25" Lunar & Planetary Filter Set #1!
When it comes to stunning views of some of our solar system's incredible
viewable objects, colored filters are an invaluable aid for your explorations.
By selectively filtering the light passing through your eyepiece, the Apertura
1.25" Lunar & Planetary Filter Set #1 increases the definition and resolution
of planetary and lunar features. With the 80A blue, 58 green, 25 red, and
ND96-0.9 neutral density filters included in this kit you can boost your
observations of an incredible set of stellar bodies—with this kit
providing enhanced views of Mercury, Venus, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and
Saturn! In addition to making details standout these filters reduce glare and
light scattering as well as dim your view, giving you a clear view and
reducing eye fatigue. These filters are housed in 1.25" filter cells
which can be easily installed into the front of most 1.25" eyepieces and
diagonals on the market today. To keep this quality filter set safe when not
in use, Apertura has also included a foam padded four-filter plastic case.
Please Note: The filtering this set provides is best suited for telescopes
with apertures 8" or larger. For telescopes with less light
gathering power we recommend the
Apertura 1.25" Lunar & Planetary Filter Set.
Wide Solar System Coverage with Just One Kit!
The Apertura 1.25" Lunar & Planetary Filter Set #1 improves your view of five of our planetary neighbors and the Moon with just one kit!
80A Blue Filter
The 80A blue filter features a 30%
transmission, and can elevate your view of a number of stellar objects. It
improves your view of Jupiter's Great Red Spot and adds contrast between
this giant's reddish belts and adjacent bright zones. This added flair can
be seen when viewing Saturn as well, sharpening the boundaries between the
belts and zones on the sixth planet from the Sun. It aids in your
exploration of Mars' polar ice caps and surface, and can improve Mercury's
surface markings at twilight when the elusive planet is low on the horizon.
This filter can additionally enrich your observation of comets, bringing out
definition in the gaseous tail!
58 Green Filter
This filter sports a 24% transmission,
and provides a boost to your views of Venus, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and
Saturn! With this filter you will add contrast to Jupiter's Great Red Spot,
and bring out some of the white features of Saturn's atmosphere. Views of
bright comets and the lunar surface are improved, and the faint cloud
patterns of Venus become more distinct. This filter can really shine when
put between you and the fourth planet from the Sun, enhancing Mars
observations across the board; including the polar ice caps, low clouds, and
dust storms.
25 Red Filter
This 25 red filter has a strong filter
profile, with just 14% transmission of the light being focused to your
eyepiece. This powerful filtering and stark contrast against the blue sky
helps with daytime observations of Mercury and Venus. This contrast also
assists in your observations of Jupiter and Saturn's blue features. Views of
Mars are also enhanced with this filter, helping add definition to the polar
ice caps, surface, and yellow dust clouds.
Neutral Density ND96 Filter
With a neutral density
filter design, this visual add-on reduces incoming light to just 13% of its
original brightness without adding the tint present in some similar filters.
This will enhance your lunar observations, revealing fainter details in the
seas, craters, and peaks, especially in brighter phases of the Moon. Shading
your view can also benefit your observations of some other celestial
objects; by taming the twinkle of double stars to assist with splitting
them, and reducing Venus' radiance to help bring some of the faint detail
visible in its atmosphere some a bit more to the forefront.
Quality Design
The filters in the Apertura 1.25" Lunar & Planetary Filter Set #1 have been
fitted into a 1.25" filter cells that make them compatible with a wide
variety of visual gear. Simply thread your filter of choice into the front
of your 1.25" threaded eyepiece, diagonal, Barlow, or other visual
filter holding accessory, to enhance your observations of the planets and
Moon! The filters themselves are made with solid parallel glass that has
been anti-reflective coated to cut glare and ghosting, as well as provide a
clear visual experience. The black anodized aluminum cell is additionally
threaded on the opposing side of the filter to allow you to make your own
unique filtering profile by stacking filters*. To keep these filters safe
when not in use, a protective plastic case with soft foam cutouts has been
included.
*Please Note: While you can create an unique and interesting filter
profile with this method, each filter addition will further reduce the
light passing through your eyepiece.
