By adding narrowband imaging capabilities to color camera users, isolate intricacies of nebulae in one shot! Purchasing three different narrowband filters to develop an image is a thing of the past, as you can collect rich signal with just this Colour Magic C2 filter. A band pass of 15nm±3nm in SII and 35nm±5nm in OIII separates the nebulosity and darkens the background sky for punchy, colorful images. Typical duo-band filters are designed for Ha and OIII wavelengths, but Askar has introduced SII for an opportunity to create the popular SHO Palette with a one-shot color camera, something formerly only available with monochrome cameras!
SHO Palette for Color Camera Users!
While this C2 filter is incredible by itself, it truly shines when paired with the Askar Colour Magic C1 Filter (not included). This C1 filter isolates wavelengths in OIII and Ha, and when this data is merged with that of the C2 filter, color camera users are able to create a full SHO color palette within their images! This ability was previously only available for monochrome camera users with the requirement of three different filters. This Askar Colour Magic C2 filter has a peak transmittance of 90% in the 500.7nm (OIII) and 672nm (SII). By only allowing light from these wavelengths, intricate details can be discerned from the light polluted background sky. Feeling creative? In post processing, map these captured wavelengths to certain color channels for unique renditions of these deep space objects!
