Duo Narrowband One-Shot Color Magic From Askar - D1 OIII & Ha and D2 OIII & SII Two 2" Filter Set

The Askar Color Magic Super Duo Narrowband Filters combine their "Super" halo control technology, high transmittance, and narrowband passes with an interesting approach to obtaining SHO data from one-shot color cameras. This filter set from their Super D series captures Ha/OIII and SII/OIII, allowing you to cut through light pollution, reveal the stunning detail of the deep-sky objects shrouded behind, and create images in the SHO pallet with a one-shot-color camera!

Askar's imaging filters are excellent standalone narrowband duo band filters in their own right, excelling at capturing nebulae with their 8.5nm band passes for Ha on the D1 and SII on the D2 and 6.5nm for OIII for both; however the Super D series is especially unique in its approach to providing users with SHO (SII, Ha, OIII) image capability. Typically capturing an image like this entails using three filters, one dedicated to each of the SHO components, and a monochrome camera. This works incredibly well, but does mean you need to purchase, integrate, and split your available imaging time up between, these three filters. Askar provides a way around this by leveraging the color information that one-shot-color cameras capture in a clever way - by creating one filter that captures OIII and Ha, and one the captures OIII and SII. As the two wavelengths of each filter are relatively far apart, it is possible to separate these out of one-shot-color exposures and construct a full SHO image with information collected from both the Super D1 and D2 filter!

More Than Just a Unique SHO Filter Set!

These 2" Askar Color Magic Super D1 and D2 Duo Narrowband Filters have more to offer than just their novel application in SHO imaging - they also integrate narrowband coatings, high transmittance, and Super halo control to make a quality filters for duo-band or SHO imaging.

Narrowband Imaging
The Askar Color Magic Super D1 and D2 Duo Narrowband Filters feature 6.5nm ± 0.5nm OIII band passes, and 8.5nm ± 0.5nm Ha and SII band passes - targeting 500.7nm, 656.3nm, and 672nm respectively, with a peak transmittance of 85%. This provides an excellent isolation of the OIII, Ha, and SII wavelengths, blocking light pollution and revealing fine detail and contrast in deep sky targets. With this filtering profile, the D1 and D2 Color Magic Super Duo Narrowband Filters are best suited for nebulae imaging.

Wide Compatability
These filters are mounted in a 2" threaded filter cell for wide compatibility. The 2" mounted cell design is one of the most common for imaging filters as it can provide up to full-frame sensor coverage, and as a result these filters can be integrated in a large array of filter drawers, filter wheels, and threaded filter cells that are on the market today!

Physical Properties
The Askar Color Magic Super D1and D2 Duo Narrowband Filters feature a 60/40 surface finish, with the filters coming in at a thickness of 1.85 +/- 0.05mm. These filters are designed for a parallelism value of 30", and have a listed barrier property of ≥OD5 @ 200-1100nm.
