The Askar SQA60 Pro Refractor is a high-performance sextuplet, air-spaced Petzval astrograph featuring SD glass elements. It features a 60 mm aperture, 276 mm focal length, and f/4.6 focal ratio. Its sextuplet air-spaced lens design delivers pinpoint stars across the field. This sextuplet design utilizes a sophisticated 3-2-1 air-spaced Petzval lens element configuration, balancing superb optical performance with structural integrity. The 2nd and 4th elements are crafted from high quality SD glass for effective chromatic aberration correction and enhanced sharpness. The 4th and 5th element also preserve the full aperture, a rarity in this class, helping ensure uniform illumination and field flatness. This integrated flattener design eliminates the need for additional correction elements and complex backfocus calculations. Simply ensure your camera is spaced between 41 mm and 66 mm, and you're ready to image. The RMS radius of the central star point is less than 1μm, while corner star points remain under 2.1μm. These optics cover up to full frame sensors, and the design accommodates both DSLR/mirrorless cameras with T-Rings and dedicated astrophotography cameras alike. The Askar SQA60 Pro comes equipped with an 82 mm front thread for attaching photographic filters, and a rear 2" filter cell for astrophotography filters.
This refractor comes equipped with a tube ring, large 2.8" rack & pinion focuser, 360° rotator, top handle, dovetail bar, and dual finder shoes. The large tube ring features a riser and and single knob design, allowing the SQA60 Pro to accommodate electronic focusers, and for the OTA itself to be quickly removed and installed. The rigid 2.8" rack & pinion focuser supports even stout imaging trains, with rock-solid focus holding capability, precise dual-speed focusing knobs, and an EAF-ready design. The focuser drawtube features internal baffles to help control stray light and internal reflections, as well as an etched scale on the exterior to aid in focusing. The focuser is outfitted with a 360° rotator to allow you to precisely find your ideal framing. The included top handle not only provides a convenient point to grab the SQA60 Pro, but also doubles as a mount point for Synta dovetail accessories. For additional accessory mounting options, this comes with two finder bases as well. An 11.4" V-style dovetail bar gives you ample room to mount even more accessories, and mount the SQA60 Pro in the vast majority of mounts on the market today. Finally, the SQA60 Pro comes with an Oxford Cloth case with foam cut-outs for the refractor with or without an EAF attached and for some equipment like a dedicated astronomy camera, to help keep your astrophotography system safe in storage or transit.
