ZWO Standard Electronic Automatic Focuser (EAF) Pro
Enhance Your Electronic Focus Experience with the EAF Pro!
Tackle focusing like a Pro with this streamlined adjustment assistant from ZWO! This electronic focuser attachment not only allows you to precisely dial in your initial focus, but also keep up with factors which can knock a well charted imaging session off course. Fluctuations in temperature, filter changes, and sometimes Meridian flips, which can require you to set timers or monitor manually can now be automated with this powerful accessory and most modern software suites and WiFi control equipment available today. This automation helps ease your imaging routine, giving you more confidence that you can walk away from your astrophotography system and still wake up to a night's worth of sharp images. Pair the EAF Pro with your ZWO ASIAir, ZWO Air Camera, or computer running a compatible ASCOM or INDI software suite, initiate auto-focus, and watch as today's complex focusing algorithms adjust your focuser for pinpoint stars; then turn on per exposure, per period of time, per change in temperature, or per filter refocusing, and relax while the EAF Pro goes to work*!
The ZWO Standard Electronic Automatic Focuser (EAF) Pro takes the convenience
and utility of a standard electronic focuser even further with its streamlined
design. With Bluetooth connectivity and a built-in 2500 mAh battery, the EAF
Pro can be controlled
either with a conventional USB connection or completely wirelessly! When paired with a compatible device and program, this electronic focuser
can drive your focus routines in a completely self-contained hardware form
factor—reducing one more cable from your system for a clearer, cable
snag free, look. This design also provides focus adjustment buttons, allowing
you to rack focus when some other electronic focuser may leave you
stuck—as long the EAF Pro has battery power, no software or separate
device required! Thanks to the growing ubiquity of bracket-style
electronically assisted focusers, integrating this excellent accessory with
many rack and pinion, linear bearing, and Crayford style focusers in use today
is simple with the included bracket and couplers. With 11 lb. of payload
capacity, this streamlined focus assistant will give you micron level focusing
power over even some seriously stout imaging trains!
*Please Note: Available autofocus algorithms and refocus automation
settings vary by software suite and control device. While the ZWO ASIAir and
Air camera lines support these features, some imaging suites and WiFi camera
control devices may not. Some autofocus algorithms require you are at least
rough focused to work properly. Refocusing based on change in temperature
requires the
ZWO Temperature Sensor
(sold separately) or other source of local temperature feedback (for third
party software).
Easy Installation and Extensive Compatibility
Attaching the EAF Pro to your telescope may seem daunting at first, but no need to fret! The process is simple and straightforward. The EAF Pro replaces the focusing knob that rests around the focusing shaft and controls focus through this connection. Simply remove this focusing knob and attach the EAF Pro in its stead with the appropriate included coupler. A mounting bracket also comes with this package to provide support and secures the EAF Pro in its place. There are multiple couplers provided with this EAF Pro, allowing use with a wide range of telescopes. One side of the coupler attaches to the EAF Pro itself, while the other side fits around the focusing shaft of your telescope. Four different sizes are provided with this electronic focuser: 4-4mm, 4-5mm, 4-6mm, 4-7mm. Unsure if these couplers will fit your telescope? You can easily measure the diameter of your focusing shaft by removing the appropriate focusing knob. Next, take the diameter of the focusing shaft and compare it to the sizes of the couplers provided to determine compatibility with your telescope. This ZWO EAF Pro is known to work with popular telescope from Sky-Watcher, SharpStar, Apertura, William Optics, and many more! Please refer to the manual for more information on compatible telescopes.
