About the 1.25" Filter and Eyepiece Kit*

This Celestron NexStar 5SE telescope bundle includes five extra eyepieces, a 2X Barlow lens, a set of six colored filters, and an aluminum carry case to carry them all in!

This eyepiece and filter kit is an amazing deal and will allow you to match your telescope’s magnification to different types of celestial objects, such as the Moon, the planets, brighter compact deep-sky objects such as star clusters and larger, more diffuse objects like galaxies and nebulae. Use any of your eyepieces alone, or pair them with the included 2X Barlow to double the magnification! Not counting any eyepieces you receive as standard equipment with your telescope, that means you will have ten (10) magnifications to choose from!

You will also receive six filters to use while viewing the planets. It takes some experimentation, but different colored filters will make details on a planet’s surface or cloud structure more prominent. These glass filters have threaded aluminum cells that screw onto the bottom of any of the eyepieces in this kit, as well as other 1.25” eyepieces you purchase later. Before long, you will know exactly which filter to use to more easily see, for instance, the polar ice caps on Mars or storms in the cloud structure of Jupiter.

All of the eyepieces and filters in this kit come stored in an aluminum case. Inside you will find protective foam that cushions your astronomy accessories. The case may be silver or black, it all depends on our availability at the time, but either way, you will find that there is some extra room for more telescope eyepieces, filters, or other small accessories.

2A AC Adapter

The AC adapter converts the NexStar 8SE to a typical AC wall outlet allowing you to run +12 volts DC at 2 amperes to your telescope. This great to use when your are near home or would like to preserve your batteries.

Apertura Lens Pen Optics Cleaning Tool

The Apertura Lens Pen has a retractable brush to gently remove dust and any other loose particles. If there is still some smudges, use the other end of the Apertura Lens Pen to gently remove them. The special non-liquid cleaning element is designed to be gentle yet effective and will never dry out.

Whenever the Apertura Lens Pen is not in use, make sure to retract the cleaning brush and use the cap. This Lens Pen is so portable; you can keep It in your camera bag or astronomy accessory case so it will always be available when you need it. Remember, only clean your optics when you have to! A few specks of dust is normal and won't usually interfere with your observations. If you do need to clean, always choose the tool with the least impact on the surface of the glass first. Taking care to only clean your optics when absolutely necessary will help keep the coatings intact and scratch-free.
