Celestron .7x Focal Reducer for 8" EdgeHD Telescopes
Dramatically Reduce Your Exposure Time with the Celestron Reducer Lens 0.7x EdgeHD 800!
Take your Celestron EdgeHD performance to new heights with the Reducer Lens .7x EdgeHD 800! Built specifically for the 8" entry in Celestron's EdgeHD series, this reducer brings a brighter and wider image to your camera with its four element design. Cut your exposure time in half with this powerful upgrade!
Celestron's EdgeHD series is known for its astrophotography prowess, and the
0.7x reducer carries on this excellence! Carefully crafted to provide the same
stunning image performance, this reducer allows you to reduce time on target
for the same amount of light and increase your field of view. At 0.7x
reduction factor you'll experience a one full F-stop increase in image
brightness which can allow you to collect a session's worth of data in
half the time it would normally take! This also gives you a noticeably
wider field of view, taking the stock 800's 2032 mm focal length down to 1422
mm. When paired with an APS-C camera this allows you capture objects like the
Triangulum Galaxy and Wizard Nebula more in full than the intimate view of the
stock FOV, or play with framing and add context to objects that would
otherwise just fit like the Moon and Lagoon Nebula! This reduction
effect is provided by a premium four lens optical design that features ED
exotic Lanthanum elements for incredible contrast and minimal chromatic
aberration across a 26.7 mm image circle!
Please Note: This reducer is only for the Celestron EdgeHD 800 model. If you are looking to transform a different EdgeHD model, please be sure to check out Celestron's dedicated 0.7x 925, 1100, and 1400 reducers!
Converting Your EdgeHD 800 is Easy!
Wider and brighter view through your Celestron EdgeHD 800 are just three short steps away with this 0.7x focal reducer, a compatible T-Adapter such as the Celestron T-Adapter for 8" EdgeHD (sold separately), and standard 55 mm backfocus spacers or T-Rings! First, remove the visual back, adapter plate, and any other accessories you may have installed, from the telescope. Next connect the Celestron Reducer Lens 0.7x EdgeHD 800 to the EdgeHD 800's adapter plate. Finally, connect your T-Adapter (with the second threaded section removed) to the 0.7x reducer and then attach your photography camera with the T-Ring, or your dedicated astro camera setup for 55 mm of backfocus. That's it, you've successfully converted your EdgeHD 800!
Create Two Scopes in One with this Quality Reducer Corrector!
With a full extra F-stop of light gathering power and 43% wider field of view, adding the Reducer Lens .7x EdgeHD 800 to your scope will bring out a different telescope in your setup!
Fast Focal Reduction
At 0.7x, this premium reducer
will transform your Celestron EdgeHD 800's f/10 focal ratio into a
noticeably faster f/7! This is an increase of one full F-stop, equating to
a doubling of light for the same amount of exposure time. That means
you can acquire the same amount of data in half the time, revealing faint
details faster than before. This additionally increases your perspective on
deep sky objects by 43%! With this wider view on the night sky you'll be
able to take a step back and capture objects that couldn't quite fit in
frame before, gain more freedom in framing smaller objects, and reduce the
number of panels needed for mosaics. This power performance covers a 26.7 mm
image circle, covering the majority of an APS-C sensor. The Celestron
Reducer Lens 0.7x for EdgeHD 800 telescopes achieves all of this while
maintaining the flat-field performance this scope series is known for!
Premier Optics and Construction
Providing the 0.7x
reducer's optical excellence is a four lens design. This features
high-index, extra-low dispersion, exotic Lanthanum elements which provide
the image reduction while maintaining the EdgeHD's flat field and incredible
image detail, while minimizing chromatic aberrations; with multi-coatings
being added to all air-to-glass surfaces to support high transmission and
this color correction performance. Glass elements are additionally edge
blackened to reduce contrast lowering stray light effects from internal
reflections. These incredible optics have been packed in a precision CNC
machined aluminum housing for an addition to your imaging system that looks
as sharp as it performs!
