Simple & Lasting Alignment
Aligning your finderscope on the first night out with your telescope is a simple one-time set up procedure. All you'll need to do is take your telescope outside and roughly aim it at an easily recognizable object, such as a streetlight, car license plate, or tall tree. Then, look through the telescope using your lowest power eyepiece and center the object you chose in the view. Once the object is centered in your eyepiece, turn on the red dot and adjust the brightness until you can easily see the red dot. Without moving the telescope, use the two adjustment knobs to align the red dot with the same object you centered in the eyepiece. The knob on the left side controls the left-right motion of the dot. The bottom knob controls the up-down motion of the dot.
