Celestron NexYZ DX Smartphone Adapter Kit
with Bluetooth Shutter Release Remote
This smartphone adapter kit from Celestron enables the camera on your smartphone to take photographs or video through the eyepieces of telescopes, spotting scopes, binoculars, and even microscopes! Known as digiscoping, this is a fun and affordable (and fun!) solution for those wanting to venture into astrophotography or micrography.
The adapter gently and firmly holds the lens of your phone's camera up to the eyepiece. The X-, Y-, and Z-axis (left/right, up/down, near/far) rack-and-pinion adjustment knobs ensure complete alignment for maximum field of view. With the included eyepiece adapter rings, the NexYZ DX supports eyepieces between 25 mm and 60 mm--the sizes of almost every optical setup from microscopes to telescopes. This is a great first solution for astroimaging or micrography alike!
The NexYZ DX also includes a wireless Bluetooth shutter release remote control. This allows for hands-off imaging or video capture for the clearest possible picture. No more gingerly pressing the screen and hoping not to move the phone to take pictures!
Included in the NexYZ DX adapter kit:
Smartphone adapter: This allows your smartphone to see through the eyepiece of telescopes, spotting scopes, microscopes, or binoculars (looking through one eyepiece) while holding your phone snugly. Compatible with almost all smartphones of any size (including "phablets"), including Apple and Android devices. Featuring X-, Y-, and Z-axis directional adjustment knobs to perfectly align the camera on your phone with the eyepiece. You can also adjust the tension to ensure your phone is firmly in place. This adapter is constructed with a rugged metal frame under a polymer body.
Two eyepiece adapter rings: When needed, these rings fit around the eyepiece of a microscope to allow for proper alignment with your phone. The NexYZ is compatible with eyepieces from 35 mm to 60 mm, which includes standard 1.25" and 2" eyepieces. With the included adapter rings, the Celestron NexYZ DX system supports eyepieces down to 25 mm--the standard of most microscopes.
Bluetooth shutter release remote control: Utilizing the Bluetooth feature of any Android or iOS smartphone, this small remote control allows the user to trigger the camera shutter without having to physically touch the phone for the clearest, most precise images possible. Powered by a CR-2032 battery.
Not compatible with riflescopes or folio-style phone cases (these types of cases will have to be removed prior to use).
