This Complete StarSense System for Sky-Watch mounts converts your computerized telescope mount into a fully automated "Go-to" system. This system includes a StarSense camera, hand controller, and an interface box. The camera and hand controller both plug into the interface box, which plugs into your mount's hand control port taking the place of a Sky-Watch SynScan hand controller. The StarSense system is compatible with the HEQ5, EQ6/8, and AZ-EQ5/6 Sky-Watcher mounts, as well as any Alt-az SynScan compatible mounts.

StarSense Automation
Celestron's patented StarSense technology allows your computerized telescope to determine its position and align itself to the night sky with a click of a button! StarSense AutoAlign’s internal camera captures an image of the sky and then analyzes it to identify the stars in the image. Based on this information, StarSense can determine the coordinates of the center of the image. After repeating this process a few times, the system can create an accurate model of the night sky. Once alignment is complete, you can select any celestial object in the hand control’s database, and StarSense will automatically center the object in your eyepiece. This custom system is designed specifically to convert Sky-Watcher mounts, and is compatible with the HEQ5, EQ6/8, and AZ-EQ5/6 equatorial mounts, as well any alt-az SynScan compatible mounts.
Comes with a StarSense Hand Controller
The Celestron StarSense Hand Controller is programmed to be used with the Celestron StarSense AutoAlign system. This powerful hand controller gives you instant access to the night sky with automatic slewing to over 40,000 objects and common-sense menu descriptions.
Includes an Interface Box & Mounting Hardware
The StarSense camera comes with two mounting brackets (large and small) which take the place of the finderscope on your telescope. The interface box easily attaches to your tripod with the included tripod strap. On the interface box, you'll find 3 AUX ports, which support the StarSense camera, hand controller, and the optional StarSense GPS accessory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the StarSense camera work in light polluted areas?
StarSense technology is designed to function under a range of sky conditions. The camera works best under moderately dark skies free of obstructions, however, it can locate star patterns during twilight and under skies impaired by light pollution or thin hazes.
What devices can connect to the AUX ports?
The three AUX ports located on the interface box included with the StarSense system are compatible with the included StarSense camera, hand controller, and SkySync GPS Accessory (sold seperately).
Is the StarSense system battery powered?
No, the StarSense system draws power from your mount's hand controller port. It does not require batteries, nor can it be powered independently of a compatible mount.
How do I update my StarSense system?
You can connects your StarSense devices to your PC directly with a mini-USB cable (not included) for software updates.
Is the StarSense AutoAlign for Sky-Watcher Mounts also compatible with Celestron mounts?
This StarSense AutoAlign system is designed specifically to convert Sky-Watcher mounts to work with StarSense technology. The included StarSense camera and hand controller also work with compatible Celestron mounts, however, the upgraded Celestron StarSense AutoGuider V2 is the recommend auto alignment and guiding accessory for most Celestron mounts.
