If you'd like to use this telescope for visual astronomy, you will need a diagonal. This upgraded 2” model slides into the back once the adapter included with the scope is attached and accepts both 2” and 1.25” barreled accessories. Buying a 2” diagonal instead of the standard 1.25” allows you to buy either size eyepiece or Barlow. Some of the best low power eyepieces have 2” barrels, so why not get a diagonal that can accept both?

This 15 mm Super Wide Angle eyepiece will produce 108X magnification when used in the iOptron RC8. If you also pick up a 2X Barlow, you’d be able to double the magnification of the 15 mm to 216X, great for the planets on steady nights.

We are offering this 40 mm eyepiece to allow your telescope to achieve low magnifications. The 40 mm produces 40X when used with the iOptron 8” RC, but if you also pick up a 2X Barlow lens, it will double the magnification of the 40 mm eyepiece to 80X. The 2X Barlow could then be used with any other eyepiece you acquire!

A 2X Barlow is one of the most popular telescope accessories available because it doubles the magnification of any eyepiece! Since this is a 2” 2X Barlow with a 1.25” adapter, it will work great with both 1.25” and 2” eyepieces, but does need a 2” diagonal or focuser to accommodate its larger 2” insert barrel. This electric focuser is made for iOptron Ritchey-Chretien telescopes that are mounted on an iOptron computerized mount.
